St Ayles Skiffs worden over de hele wereld gebouwd en geroeid, we hebben al vele buitenlandse roeivrienden gemaakt! Tijdens SkiffieWorlds 2025 maar ook tijdens een vakantie in Ierland.
Onze roeicollega's en -vrienden van Loop Head Rowing Club (West-Ierland) organiseren een grote inzamelingsactie voor Multiple Sclerose Ierland (één van hun leden heeft deze aandoening). Ze roeien met 2 lokale St Ayles Skiffs en een aantal traditionele Ierse currachs een route van 50 km rondom de Loop Head schiereiland, op de Atlantische Oceaan en de monding van de Shannon (De Oosterschelde is er niets bij...). Dit gaat ergens in Juli of Augustus gebeuren, de oceaan bepaalt wanneer!
Wij willen een mooie gebaar maken naar onze roeivrienden in Ierland, en koppelen een paar uitdagende dagtochten op de Oosterschelde aan hetzelfde goede doel!
En natuurlijk willen we ze ook financieel steunen, en zijn een fundraising actie gestart.

St Ayles Skiffs are built and rowed all over the world; we have already made many rowing friends abroad! During SkiffieWorlds 2025, but also during a holiday in Ireland.
Our rowing colleagues and friends from Loop Head Rowing Club (West Ireland) are organizing a major fundraising event for Multiple Sclerosis Ireland (one of their members is living with Multiple Sclerosis). They are rowing a 50 km route around the Loop Head peninsula, across the Atlantic Ocean and the Shannon estuary (the Oosterschelde pales in comparison...) with 2 local St Ayles Skiffs and a number of traditional Irish currachs. This will take place sometime in July or August; the ocean will decide when!
We want to make a gesture towards our rowing friends in Ireland, and are linking a few challenging Oosterschelde day trips to the same good cause!
And of course, we also want to support them financially, so we started our own fundraising to support!
